This Martin Indiana was brought back from the dead and years of disuse.All dents and dings carefully rolled out , posts aligned, rods and keys, body, bell, and key guards straightened, and then keys and parts of body hand polished from top to bottom. Tone holes checked for levelness, all factory soldering found intact. It was repadded with natural leather Neo Pads, a unique system that ensures pads seal every time. Palm keys done with standard tan leather pads. Laquer is original about 50% remaining with obvious signs of wear. The horn plays beautifully in tune from high F to low Bb. Key action is light with no chatter. The ergonomics are very good for a vintage horn. Corks, felts and springs also replaced where needed. The body bears SN 84966 and the RMC stamp from Martin’s RMC period of production in their Elkhart plant. The horn came without a neck, so a correct neck with SN 70330 was obtained. The case interior is in great shape and latches do close but the case should be replaced. No mouthpiece, but what may be an original ligature is included, together with a nice Music Medic pouch for the neck. I tried to cover every angle with the pictures but mail if more are needed. Stand not included. No bids outside continental US accepted. I always double box vintage horns, for which UPS charges $50 flat rate. I will provide this free. I’ll accept all reasonable offers. You’ll be getting a very nice alto with a vintage look that will be good for years.
