Available for a limited time: The Blue Thunder small block 289/302 3-2 Ford dual plane intake manifold. For use with original Holley / Ford 289 Tri-Power carburetors. This casting has been shot blasted with Stainless Steel media to match the OE Ford look and not change colors and rust, like other aftermarket manifolds that have been shot peened with iron media. Blue Thunder in their most current batch of castings has “MADE IN THE USA” cast into the bottom of the manifold. According to Blue Thunder they made this discussion because other well known “American Manufacturers” secretly switched to have castings made overseas in places like China, leaving customers pissed after receiving product and finding CHINA cast in the bottom of what they believed was an American product! The quality of foreign-made product is not acceptable to my customer base, so I can appreciate this decision! Every surface has been CNC machined so you don’t need to worry about proper fitment. Using precision proprietary cutters this manifold has smooth clean surfaces, you can take the manifold on and off while tuning; without destroying your gasket. This manifold are ready to put on your engine and run! As if using aircraft foundries wasn’t enough Blue Thunder takes extra steps to assure their quality by pressure testing the water jackets of every manifold, thus assuring the serious engine builder that they’re not waisting time and possibly going to tear the engine back down for a leak issue. This manifold is highly detailed, what you see in the picture is the same quality you will receive. We don't take pictures of items that are not representative of the piece you will receive. Other manufacturers use recycled materials, don’t pressure test, and use inferior cutters. We know, we use other aftermarket manifolds when Blue Thunder is not available. I can tell you without a doubt their manifolds are the best piece available. If you're tired of other manifolds that have weird names cast on them, rough casting, misaligned ports and leaks; this is the manifold for you. Included in sell: 1) CNC Machined, 289/302 Tri Power Intake Manifold. 1) Set of Stainless Steel washers. Commonly asked questions Question: What is the best Carburetor for this application? Answer: Original style Holley Ford 289 Tri-Power with list numbers 2881/2882 model 2300. Please remember that Ford has a shorter carburetor spacing than other manufacturers at 10” front to rear carburetor stud (center to center). Please make sure your carburetors are designed for original Ford carburetor spacing when choosing a carburetor for your application. Question: Is this the only brand of manifold you carry, or do you sell other manufacturers manifolds? Answer: Because of the strict and high-quality manufacturing procedures Blue Thunder holds we now only offer the Blue Thunder manifold in our eBay store, though we do use other manifolds on occasion for specific engine builds. On occasion we have different style manifolds available from this manufacturer. Please free to shoot shoot us over a question if you need something that you think we may carry. Furthermore I feel this warrants a blunt honest answer. When we were offering other manufacturers manifolds we were compelled to pressure check the product before shipping due to the high amount of complaints. What we found is over 30% of other manifolds had some kind of leak (especially big block Ford FE intake manifold’s), and when you add up the fact it takes hours to properly pressure test a manifold and $94.00 to impregnate the leaking ones, we were spending almost $300.00 per manifold with transportation; and when someone else is offering “the same manifold” for $300.00 less it’s hard to explain. When all’s said and done we’d rather sell the better product, a product made by people who care about their reputation. Question: Do you stock this item, or is it going to be shipped to me from some third-party that I didn't purchase it from? Answer: Every item we sell or advertise is in stock, and will arrive on or before the date required; with one exception: saving time and money. Based on our customers location, we will ship direct from factory and refund the savings to the customer. Part1) The best way to sum this up is that you’re not purchasing a commodity item. Every manifold is handled dozens of times by numerous different employees, this ensures that nothing gets missed before going out the door. After having long talks with the manufacture they describe their merchandise as table dressings/jewelry. If you bought your wife a beautiful diamond ring and within one month the diamonds start coming out you will be an unhappy customer. Blue Thunder does not have unhappy customers because merchandise is falling apart, they have unhappy customers because long production times! The way Blue Thunder explains it to me, they wouldn’t have it any other way “the faster manufacturing go’s the more chance things get missed, and we’re not going to miss anything”! Part2) Blue Thunder only uses the finest materials and equipment available for their manufacturing. It starts when the manifold is cast from Aircraft certified foundries and finishes with their method of cleaning the casting before it’s packaged. You will not find embedded material on their product that will find its way into your engine oil, like so many others! Every time I speak with the people at Blue Thunder it’s very clear that every step has been meticulously thought through. This is why they have one of the finest names in the Ford industry!
