Product Description: This rare first printing hard cover copy of « Journeys of Frodo: An Atlas of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, » is such an amazing find! It was first published in 1981 by Ballantine Books, a division of Random House Inc. and it is quite unusual to find an original hard cover edition, as most available online all seem to be paper back. The book is authored by Barbara Strachey and is an atlas and reference guide to the famous Lord of the Rings series with a series of incredibly detailed topographical charts and maps following the famed fellowship of the ring’s journey through middle earth starting all the way at the shire and ending in Mordor. So amazing to be able to chart these classic character’s journeys! It measures 7.75 inches in height, 10 inches in width, and 0.5 inches in length, with a weight of 1.2 pounds. The book features its original dust jacket and is a first printing. Dimensions/Measurements:7.75 in tall10 in long0.5 in deep Condition Notes:In decent condition, absolutely still readable and the inside of the pages are in great shape other than the usual yellowing with age. There is some tearing and bending to the edges of the dust jacket, but generally still held together well. The biggest issue with this item’s condition is that the glue on the binding has completely dried up therefore a large chunk of pages in the middle is no longer attached, as pictured. However, the binding itself is still in tact the pages just need to be reglued. None of the pages are missing, and this should be a fairly simple fix for anyone with basic book restoration knowledge (or with the proper amount of determination).
