She has been called the “first lady of sporting art”. Her work can be found in national publications, private collections and various galleries. Merry « Kelley » Stevens gained international recognition, mainly in the field of race track paintings and beautiful portraits of some of the finest horses in the world. Admired as one of the most noted equine artists in the United States, Kelly’s artwork beautifully captures the horse in its multi-faceted moods of strength, gentleness, intelligence, and athletic prowess. Always in demand, she was commissioned by the Santa Anita Race Track, the Bay Meadows Race Track, The Northern California Thoroughbred Association, and numerous private collectors. Sadly, Kelly Stevens passed away in 1996 and her work has been difficult to find and rarely offered for sale.Fleet Allied is a great example of one of the beautiful racehorses that made their mark in the twentieth century. Foaled in 1966 and a multiple stakes winner, he exhibits all the fine attributes of a thoroughbred racehorse. Kelly perfectly captures him proudly strutting his stuff! This is a collectible, limited edition print that was published nearly thirty years ago. You won’t find this offered anywhere else because I purchased the entire run of 250 signed and numbered prints, directly from the artist, in 1988. And, you absolutely can’t beat my very low eBay auction price!I’m able to offer this great print at such a fantastic savings, because of my past involvement in the wholesale art business. During the mid-eighties and through the nineties, I operated a wholesale art framing company that was well-known throughout Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada. I supplied various retailers with premium, matted and framed art. Because of my experience, knowledge and reputation for high quality, especially in Western Art, I was chosen to be the exclusive supplier to radio / television personality, Bob Eubanks, during his many appearances on the Home Shopping Network. My association with Bob Eubanks Productions continued for many years, including as a popular exhibitor at the NFR Cowboy Christmas Gift Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
