These are 25mm Heroic Scale fantasy miniatures for fantasy roleplaying, such as D&D. You will receive the unpainted listed item MIB (which means Mint in Blister / Box) otherwise referred to as BNIB (Brand New in Box). NO PLASTIC BASE IS INCLUDED.An excellent well posed Oriental Tengu figure. This Warrior is clothed in, I believe, O-Yoroi armour which has nice detail on the Sode (Spaulders). This Fighter is armed with a Katana, which has been thickened up for the model, because if it was to scale in thickness, when it was used in gaming it would bend and break too easily. Useful mini for any Oriental adventures D&D game. The Tengu date all the way back in Japanese legends and folklore. They are Supernatural beings or Shinto Gods. They also appear in Buddist writings as Demons. In Dungeons and Dragons The Tengu resemble the Kenku, both are an avian race and appear similar. It is all depending on which era of the rules that you are playing, as both races appear to cross over in characteristics. The Oriental Adventures book mentions that the Tengu are also known as Kenku. The Tengu are a crow people and have wings, but there are two racial types of them of them, one is more avian in appearance, the other more humanoid. The Monster Manual III describes the Kenku as hawk or crow like beings and shows a Kenku with wings, but later editions dropped this. The 5th edition Volo’s Guide to Monsters stated that the Kenku betrayed their master and were punished by him. Thus they had their ability to fly taken away from them. They were effectively cursed with flightlessness when their wings dropped off, and the Kenku will seek out anything that gives them that ability back. This miniature is approximately 26mm tall to his head but 30mm to the tip of his sword. Reaper have moved into plastic with their Bones range, but you can’t beat metal on the table. Reaper Miniatures are a leading hobby and adventure industry brand. The company designs and manufactures pewter miniature figurines, plastic figures, paint and accessories for the gaming hobbyist. It has been in business since it was founded in Fort Worth Texas on July 4th 1992 when it was set up by four people who were enthusiastic for gaming.
