For auction is a beautiful desk set consisting of 5 desk set items made by Roycroft of East Aurora, NY. I have a letter rack, inkwell, calendar with calendar pages, letter opener and rocker blotter. The letter rack measures 5 1/2″ wide by 1 9/16″ deep by 2 3/4″ tall and has a semi-rounded top. The calendar measures 4 1/16″ wide by 1 1/26″ deep and 3 3/8″ tall and also has a semi-rounded top. It also has all of its original perpetual calendar pages. When this item is found it is usually missing its calendar pages or only has a few. The inkwell measures 3 1/2″ round at the bottom and 1 3/4″ in diameter at the top. It tapers from the top and expands as it gets to the bottom. The inkwell cover lifts off and it still retains its original clear inkwell reservoir. When found this is usually missing or cracked. The rocker blotter measures 4 11/16″ wide by 1 3/4″ deep and 1 5/16″ tall to the top of the finial or knob. It still retains its original salmon colored blotter paper. The letter opener measures 7 7/16″ long by 1 9/16″ wide at the back handle and 1/16″ tall or the thickness of the copper. All 5 items display hand hammering on copper throughout except the letter opener which is smooth on the back side and hammered on the top. The patina is infamous Roycroft craftsman brown patina. The quality is outstanding for a desk set of this age. This desk set is considered to be in very good to excellent with minor wear to the letter opener’s patina. The rest of the set shows very minor wear. The desk set pieces are all signed with the Roycroft orb and cross impressed mark. This desk set was made circa 1910-1920. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don’t agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
